1. Introduction

PearlCity LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the DokMind mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use DokMind.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. DokMind is designed with a privacy-first architecture — your scanned documents, extracted text, and analysis results are stored exclusively on your device.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored On Your Device

The following data is created and stored locally on your device only using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have access to this data and it never leaves your device except as described in Section 2.2.

• Scanned Document Images: Photos captured through the in-app document scanner
• OCR Text: Text extracted from your scanned documents using on-device optical character recognition
• AI Analysis Results: Summaries, key points, action items, and other analysis generated by AI
• Document Metadata: Document titles, categories, dates, page counts, and favorite status
• App Preferences: Your settings, onboarding status, and usage counters
• Subscription Status: Whether you have an active Pro subscription (managed by Apple)

2.2 Information Sent to AI Services

When you use DokMind's AI analysis features (summarize, extract key points, identify action items, or classify a document), the following data is sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing:

• Scanned Document Images: The page images of the document being analyzed
• Extracted OCR Text: The text content of the document being analyzed
• Analysis Prompts: Instructions describing what type of analysis to perform

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your location data
• Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Your browsing history or app usage analytics
• Your contacts, calendar, or other personal data
• User accounts — DokMind does not require sign-up or login

3. Camera Access

DokMind requires camera access to scan documents using Apple's VisionKit document scanner. Camera access is used exclusively for document scanning within the app. We do not:

• Access your camera in the background
• Record video
• Access your existing photo library (unless you explicitly choose to import)
• Use facial recognition or biometric data

You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device's Settings app.

5. Data Storage and Security

All document data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, protected by your device's built-in security features including:

• Device encryption (enabled by default on iOS)
• App sandboxing (other apps cannot access DokMind's data)
• Biometric/passcode protection on your device

When data is transmitted to the AI service for analysis, it is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections through Google's Firebase AI Logic SDK, which provides:

• TLS encryption in transit
• Firebase App Check for request authentication
• No persistent storage of your document content by the AI service

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your document data may only leave your device in these scenarios:

• AI Analysis: When you explicitly request AI analysis (see Section 2.2)
• Export/Share: When you choose to export a PDF or share a document using iOS sharing features (AirDrop, email, print, etc.) — this is entirely under your control

• On-device data: Stored until you delete it within the app or uninstall the app
• AI-processed data: Not retained by Google's Gemini service after processing your request
• Subscription data: Managed by Apple through App Store — see Apple's privacy policy

Uninstalling DokMind permanently removes all locally stored data from your device.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Because your data is stored on your device, you have full control:

• Delete documents: Remove any document from within the app at any time
• Revoke camera access: Disable camera permission in Settings at any time
• Avoid AI processing: Use DokMind for scanning and OCR without ever triggering AI analysis
• Export your data: Export any document as a PDF at any time
• Delete all data: Uninstall the app to remove all stored data

California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete your personal information, and to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. Since DokMind stores data only on your device and we do not collect or sell personal information, these rights are inherently satisfied by our privacy-first architecture.

10. Children's Privacy

DokMind is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect personal information from any user, there is no risk of inadvertent collection from minors.

11. International Users

When you use AI analysis features, your document data may be processed by Google's servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. Google's data processing practices are governed by their privacy policy and applicable data protection agreements.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
