Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 3, 2026 · Last Updated: May 3, 2026
Pearlcity LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the PantryMynd mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
PantryMynd is a camera-first, budget-aware AI meal planner. The App scans your fridge and pantry, optionally reads your store’s weekly deals, generates personalized weekly meal plans with full recipes, builds your shopping list, and learns your real grocery prices over time.
Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.
Privacy at a Glance. PantryMynd is designed with a privacy-first approach. All of your meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, dietary preferences, and logged grocery prices are stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData). We do not maintain user accounts, collect email addresses, or store your data on any cloud server. The only data that leaves your device is when you explicitly use one of the AI-powered features — at that point, the relevant photos and text are sent to Google’s Gemini AI service (via the Firebase AI Logic SDK) to generate a response. Your photos are not retained after the AI request completes.
We collect information that you voluntarily provide when using the App:
PantryMynd does not collect or store:
On-Device Only. All of your personal data — photos, meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, dietary preferences, logged prices, and app settings — is stored exclusively on your iPhone or iPad using Apple’s SwiftData framework and the App’s private file storage. We do not operate any cloud database or server that stores your personal information. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
Important: AI Data Processing Disclosure. PantryMynd uses Google’s Gemini AI to power three features: meal plan generation (with vision), recipe-based YouTube search suggestions, and re-plan from a saved favorite. This section explains exactly what data is shared, with whom, and how you can control it.
| Feature | When data is sent | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Meal Plan Generation | When you complete the planning wizard and tap to generate plans | Your fridge photos, your pantry photos, any deals photos or rasterized PDF pages you provided, your weekly budget (if entered), and your active dietary preferences |
| YouTube Search Suggestion | When you open a recipe’s detail screen for the first time | The recipe title only. Returns a tutorial-friendly search query. |
| Re-plan from Favorite | When you tap “Re-plan from this favorite” on a saved plan | The favorite plan’s title, summary, and meal layout, plus your most recent inventory and deals text summaries from your last planning session, your current budget setting, and your current dietary preferences |
Even when you use an AI feature, the following is NEVER sent to any external service:
Your data is processed by Google’s Gemini AI to generate the requested response. Google processes this data according to:
Per Google’s Gemini API terms, data sent through the paid API tier is not used to train Google’s AI models.
Browsing your active week, opening saved recipes, checking off shopping list items, logging prices after shopping, viewing price history, toggling dietary preferences, or running Cooking Mode do NOT send any data to any external service. Every non-AI feature works fully offline on your device.
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini AI (via Firebase AI Logic SDK) | Power the three AI features above | Only the data described in section 3.1 |
| Firebase Remote Config | Manage which Gemini model the App uses | No personal data |
| Firebase App Check | Verify authentic app requests | Device attestation token (no personal data) |
| Apple StoreKit 2 | Subscription management | Handled entirely by Apple |
Before any data is sent to Google’s Gemini AI service, the App presents a clear consent screen on first launch (between onboarding and the main app) that explains:
You must explicitly accept this consent before any AI features are activated. If you decline, the App continues to function — you can still browse saved recipes, manage your shopping list, log prices, and use Cooking Mode.
You can revoke your AI data consent at any time:
When you revoke consent, no further data will be sent to any AI service. Previously generated meal plans, recipes, and shopping lists remain stored locally on your device.
PantryMynd offers an optional subscription, PantryMynd Pro, that unlocks unlimited weekly planning sessions. Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit 2. We do not receive your payment details. We only receive an anonymous transaction receipt that confirms whether you have an active subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime via iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt-out of sale. We do not sell your data and we do not maintain personal information on any server, so most of these rights are exercised automatically by uninstalling the App.
EEA residents have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port their data. Since all data is stored on your device, you can exercise these rights directly through the App by editing or deleting individual entries, or by uninstalling the App entirely.
PantryMynd is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that we should know about, please contact us at appfactory1970@gmail.com.
PantryMynd is a meal planning and grocery budgeting tool. It is NOT a medical device, NOT a substitute for professional nutrition or dietary counseling, and does NOT provide medical, nutritional, or clinical advice.
AI-generated recipes, ingredient suggestions, sale-price extractions, and budget estimates are best-effort outputs and may contain errors. Always verify ingredient lists against allergen information you can read yourself, and consult a registered dietitian or your physician before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have allergies, food sensitivities, diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancy, or other conditions that require careful dietary management.
The dietary preference toggles (Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free, Halal, Kosher) are best-effort filters and should not be relied upon for life-threatening allergies. If you have a severe allergy, always inspect each ingredient yourself before purchasing or cooking.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, photos, recipes, or shopping data to third parties for any purpose whatsoever.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
