Effective Date: May 8, 2026
FixMynd ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Pearlcity LLC, respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data FixMynd collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you when you use the FixMynd application.
The short version: Your diagnosis history, photos, and reports are stored locally on your device. We do not run a cloud backend. When you tap Analyze, the photo you took, any one-line description you typed, and any category override you selected are sent to Google's Gemini AI service for analysis. Your name, location, contact information, and any other personal information are never sent.
FixMynd is not a substitute for a licensed contractor. AI-generated diagnoses, DIY-vs-Pro recommendations, step-by-step instructions, and "what to tell the contractor" text are organizational tools to help you understand the issue and prepare to either repair it yourself or hire a professional. They are not a guarantee of outcome. Always consult a licensed plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, or general contractor for any work involving gas lines, the electrical panel, structural elements, roofing above a step ladder, or anything you are not fully comfortable doing yourself.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Photos of home repair issues: The photos you take with the in-app camera or pick from your photo library. Stored locally on your device in the FixMynd app sandbox.
- Optional descriptions: The free-text one-liner you may type to add context to a photo (for example, "water dripping for 2 days" or "smells like burning when I run it"). Stored locally.
- Category overrides: When you re-analyze a diagnosis with an explicit category (for example, "Re-analyze as Plumbing"), the override category is recorded with the diagnosis. Stored locally.
- Diagnosis outcomes: The optional thumbs-up / thumbs-down you tap on a diagnosis after attempting the fix. Stored locally.
Automatically Collected Information
- Free tier usage count: The number of AI diagnoses used this month (out of 3) is stored locally to enforce the free tier limit. Resets at the start of each calendar month.
- Subscription status: Managed by Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not see or store your payment information.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, and FixMynd app version may be referenced for compatibility and troubleshooting. Not transmitted to a server.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate a structured Fix Report from your photo and optional description, including the auto-detected category, a DIY-vs-Pro headline, a plain-English diagnosis, difficulty / time / cost estimates, materials and tools, step-by-step instructions, and safety warnings.
- When the AI's recommendation is "Call a Pro," to generate a copy-paste-ready paragraph you can read aloud or text to a plumber, electrician, or contractor.
- To generate an optimized YouTube search query so you can find a beginner-friendly repair video for the issue.
- To save every diagnosis to your local History so you can refer back to it later.
- To manage your subscription status via Apple StoreKit.
- To improve app performance and respond to support requests.
3. Third-Party Services
Google Gemini AI (via Firebase AI Logic)
When you tap Analyze, the following data is sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing:
- The photo you took or selected from your library.
- The optional one-line description you typed (if any).
- The category override you selected (if you used the "Re-analyze as ___" link).
Your name, location, contact information, and any other personal identifiers are never sent to Google. Google processes the data we do send according to their Privacy Policy and Generative AI Terms of Service. We do not retain copies of your AI requests on our infrastructure.
Firebase
Used by FixMynd for Remote Config (managing the Gemini model identifier and feature flags) and for the Firebase AI Logic SDK that routes your AI requests to Google Gemini. Firebase App Check verifies that requests come from a genuine FixMynd app instance. No personal user data is stored in Firebase by FixMynd.
Apple StoreKit
Subscription purchases, restorations, and management are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. Payment processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Pearlcity LLC never sees or stores your payment information.
4. Data Storage & Security
- All your diagnoses, photos, descriptions, category overrides, and outcome marks are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- Photos of home repair issues are stored as JPEG data inside FixMynd's app sandbox, accessible only to FixMynd.
- AI requests are transmitted securely via HTTPS through Google's Firebase AI Logic SDK.
- FixMynd does not operate any servers that store your personal repair, photo, or diagnosis data.
5. Data Sent to AI (Explicit Disclosure)
When you use AI features, the following data is sent to Google's Gemini AI service for processing:
- The photo you take or pick from your library when you start a diagnosis.
- The optional one-line description you typed for that diagnosis (if any).
- The category override you selected when you tap "Re-analyze as ___" on an existing diagnosis.
This data is:
- Sent only when you explicitly tap Analyze or Re-analyze.
- Not stored permanently by FixMynd or Pearlcity LLC on any server.
- Subject to Google's data processing policies once received.
You can revoke AI data consent at any time in the app's Settings screen. Revoking consent disables all AI features. Your existing History entries continue to be readable, and your subscription status continues to be managed normally.
6. Data Retention
- All your diagnosis, photo, and outcome data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the FixMynd app removes all data.
- You can delete individual diagnoses from within the History tab at any time.
- Pearlcity LLC does not retain any copies of your repair, photo, or diagnosis data on any server.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Revoke AI data consent: Toggle "AI Features" off in Settings at any time. The app's existing History is still readable; new diagnoses cannot be generated until consent is restored.
- Delete individual diagnoses: Swipe to delete (iOS) or tap delete (iPad) any diagnosis from the History tab.
- Delete all data: Uninstall FixMynd to remove all locally stored data.
- Manage camera and photo library access: Adjust or revoke permission in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera (or Photos) > FixMynd.
- Request information: Contact appfactory1970@gmail.com with any data privacy questions.
8. Contractor Disclaimer
FixMynd is not a substitute for a licensed contractor. The diagnoses, DIY-vs-Pro recommendations, difficulty ratings, materials lists, step-by-step instructions, "what to tell the contractor" text, and YouTube search queries generated by FixMynd are organizational tools to help you understand the issue and prepare to either repair it yourself or hire a professional. They are not a guarantee of outcome. They are not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, or general contractor. FixMynd does not, and cannot, replace a hands-on inspection by a qualified professional. If FixMynd recommends "Call a Pro" โ or anytime the work involves gas lines, the main electrical panel, structural elements, roofing above a step ladder, or anything you are not fully comfortable doing yourself โ contact a licensed professional. You are responsible for all decisions about repair work in your home. Pearlcity LLC and FixMynd do not assume liability for outcomes resulting from reliance on AI-generated content, including any property damage, injury, or loss arising from DIY repair attempts.
9. Children's Privacy
FixMynd is designed for adults responsible for the maintenance of their own home. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy and updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of FixMynd after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
