CareMynd uses a rolling 365-day window for the free tier, not a monthly reset. Aging-parent care tends to be event-driven (an appointment, a hospital discharge, a new diagnosis), so a yearly window respects how families actually use it.

What is the Visit Prep feature?

Visit Prep helps you walk into your parent's next doctor appointment fully prepared. Tap Generate on an upcoming appointment and CareMynd produces a structured report based on the parent profile data you have saved: a headline observation, a current medication review, a summary of recent observations you logged, specific concrete questions to ask the doctor, and things to watch for between now and the appointment. Bring it on your phone, share it with a sibling, or print it from the share sheet.

What is the Home Readiness feature?

Home Readiness produces a prioritized aging-in-place plan for your parent's home. It uses your parent's age, conditions, mobility, fall history, home setup (single or multi-story), and whether they live alone to recommend modifications โ€” grab bars, lighting, fall prevention, medication management, kitchen safety, and more โ€” with each recommendation tagged with priority and linked into a curated resource library so you can learn more or buy the right product.

Is CareMynd a substitute for a doctor or pharmacist?

No. CareMynd is an organizational tool that helps a family caregiver prepare for conversations with their parent's care team. The Visit Prep reports, Home Readiness plans, questions to ask, and recommendations are not a diagnosis, not a prescription, and not a treatment plan. They are not a substitute for a licensed physician, pharmacist, nurse, or occupational therapist. Always consult your parent's care team for medical decisions, medication changes, and any clinical concerns. In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

What's the free tier limit?

Free users get 5 AI actions in any rolling 365-day window, counted from the date of your first AI action. The window does not reset at the start of each month or each year โ€” it rolls forward day by day. CareMynd Pro removes the limit. Browse-by-Condition starter checklists and the Add Doctor Suggestion flow are both free and unlimited.

Why a rolling 365-day window instead of a monthly reset?

Aging-parent care tends to be event-driven. A family might use CareMynd intensely the week of an appointment, then not touch it for two months. A monthly reset would penalize that pattern. A rolling yearly window lets free users actually evaluate the product on their schedule.

If I get an error mid-generation, do I lose a free AI action?

No. The free-tier counter only decrements when the report actually renders for you. If generation errors out (no internet, AI service unavailable, response truncated) before the report appears, your usage count is unaffected.

What data is sent to AI when I generate a report?

Only the medical context relevant to that question. For Visit Prep: your parent's age and relationship label (for example, "78-year-old father"), active medical conditions, current medications with dose and schedule, recent observations and vitals you logged, the upcoming appointment's specialty and reason, and your optional caregiver concern. For Home Readiness: your parent's age, relationship label, conditions, mobility, fall history, home setup, and whether they live alone. Your parent's name, your name, your location, doctor's names, pharmacy details, and contact information are never sent. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.

Can I use CareMynd without AI?

Yes. You can manage parent profiles, medications, appointments, observations, and care team contacts entirely without AI. The Browse-by-Condition starter checklists and Add Doctor Suggestion flows do not use AI and are free and unlimited. Toggle "AI Features" off in Settings at any time to revoke consent; toggle it back on to generate AI reports again. Your existing saved data and reports stay readable either way.

How is my data stored? Is it in the cloud?

No cloud. All parent profiles, medications, appointments, observations, contacts, and saved reports are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not run a server that stores any of your data. CareMynd does not currently sync between iPhone and iPad โ€” each device has its own local store.

Can I share a report with a sibling or family member?

Yes. Every saved Visit Prep and Home Readiness report has a Share button. Tap it to open the native share sheet โ€” text the report, email it, save it to Files, or print it. This is one of the most-used features for families where multiple adult children are coordinating an aging parent's care.

Can I manage more than one parent?

Yes. Add as many parents as you need. Each parent has their own profile, medication list, appointments, observations, contacts, and saved reports. Switch between parents using the parent selector at the top of the Today, Visits, and Home tabs.

My parent's care team gave me a recommendation. Where do I put it?

Use the Add Doctor Suggestion flow on the Home tab. Capture the recommendation (for example, "PT three times a week" or "Cardiologist wants daily BP log"), tag it to your parent, and CareMynd will surface it on the Today screen. This flow is free and unlimited โ€” it does not use AI and does not count against your free-tier AI quota.

How do I manage my subscription?

Go to your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions to view, change, or cancel your CareMynd Pro subscription. You can also tap "Restore Purchases" in the CareMynd Settings screen to sync your subscription status with Apple.

I purchased Pro but it's not showing up

Open CareMynd, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. This will sync your subscription status with Apple. If the issue persists, contact us below.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Uninstalling CareMynd removes all locally stored data โ€” parent profiles, medications, appointments, observations, contacts, and saved reports. Because CareMynd does not back data up to a server, this is permanent. We recommend exporting any reports you want to keep (using the Share button) before uninstalling.
