MenuMynd explains restaurant menus in your language. Snap a menu, see what every dish is, choose, and show or say your order to the server. If something isn't working, or you have a question, we'd love to hear from you.

We usually reply within 24 to 48 hours. It helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version and the MenuMynd version (Settings tab, at the bottom).
AI can be wrong. MenuMynd never promises a dish is free of an allergen — always confirm ingredients and allergens with the staff. MenuMynd is not medical advice.
Getting Started
- Open MenuMynd. The first time, a short screen explains what is sent to Google's Gemini AI service. Tap I Agree to use the AI features.
- Point the camera at one menu or board and press the shutter, or tap Choose a photo. Dishes appear as they are read.
- Tap a dish for its ingredients, allergen notes and to hear its name. Tap What should I order? for picks (MenuMynd Pro).
- Tap Say it to the server to show or play your order in their language, or use the Talk tab to talk back and forth (MenuMynd Pro).
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the free scans work?
Everyone gets 3 free menu scans to try MenuMynd. A scan counts only when a menu is read and the result is shown. After the third scan, MenuMynd offers MenuMynd Pro before the next photo is taken, so no photo is sent that you can't see the result of. Your saved menus stay free to reopen forever.
MenuMynd said it "couldn't read this menu". Did that use a scan?
No. If a photo is too blurry, too angled or too far away, MenuMynd asks you to retake it, and that never uses a free scan or counts toward a daily limit. For the best results, fill the frame with one menu or board, hold the phone straight on, and avoid glare. You can also choose "Show what I could read"; that menu is saved with a "Partly read" label so you know some dishes are missing.
What's free, and what does MenuMynd Pro add?
- Free: 3 menu scans, your allergy and diet card (always free, never limited by the paywall), reopening every saved menu, and your food passport.
- MenuMynd Pro: "What should I order?" picks, order phrases, and Talk to the Server, plus up to 15 menu scans a day and up to 40 picks, order phrases and Talk translations a day. Allergy cards never count toward these limits. The daily counts reset at midnight where you are.
What do the subscriptions cost?
- Trip Pass (1 Week): $3.99 per week.
- MenuMynd Pro Yearly: $29.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you have had a Trip Pass before, Apple's rules mean the yearly trial isn't offered.
Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by country. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open MenuMynd, go to the Settings tab and tap Restore Purchases. The paywall also has a Restore link.
How do I cancel?
In MenuMynd, go to Settings and tap Manage Subscription. Or open your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then MenuMynd. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Which languages does MenuMynd support?
- Menus: almost any language and script, printed or on a chalkboard.
- Results ("My language"): English, Español, Français, Português (Brasil), 简体中文, العربية and हिन्दी. Change it in Settings, under My language.
- The app's buttons and screens: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil) and Simplified Chinese, following your iPhone's language. Other iPhone languages see the app in English, with results in your chosen language.
- Talk to the Server: works in the languages your iPhone can recognize speech in. If a language can't be recognized, or you're somewhere noisy, you can always type.
Talk says it needs the microphone or speech recognition. What's that for?
Talk to the Server listens only while you hold a talk button. Apple's speech recognition turns what you or the server say into text, then MenuMynd translates it and can speak it aloud. The first time, MenuMynd explains this and then iOS asks for Speech Recognition and Microphone access. If you said no, you can turn them on in your iPhone's Settings, under MenuMynd. Typing works without either permission.
Why is a Talk turn waiting with "Send" and "Edit"?
If what was heard mentions something on your allergy list, or MenuMynd isn't sure it heard it correctly ("May be misheard"), it shows you the words first so you can fix them before anything is translated. Typed turns are sent straight away.
Can I trust the allergen notes?
Use them as a starting point for a conversation, never as a guarantee. MenuMynd shows what a dish contains or may contain as far as the AI can tell from the menu, and it never says a dish is free of an allergen. Menus often leave out ingredients, and no app can know about shared oil, pans or utensils in a kitchen. Always confirm with the staff. Your allergy card, in the server's language, asks the kitchen exactly that, and it's always free. MenuMynd is not medical advice.
Does MenuMynd work offline?
Saved menus, your passport, your allergy card and pinned order phrases open offline. Scanning a new menu, picks and new order phrases need an internet connection. On iOS 18 and later, Talk can translate offline for language pairs you've downloaded in Apple's Translate settings.
How does iCloud Sync work?
iCloud Sync is off by default. Turn it on in Settings to keep your saved menus, passport and profile on all your iPhones with the same Apple Account. The change takes effect the next time you open MenuMynd.
What happens to my menu photos?
Only after you agree, each menu photo is sent once to Google's Gemini AI service to read it. Google doesn't use your menu photos or MenuMynd's answers to improve its products or train its AI. It keeps them for a limited time only to detect misuse. MenuMynd keeps only a small thumbnail on your iPhone. You can turn AI features off in Settings at any time. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
A price looks wrong.
MenuMynd shows prices as they read from the menu and never converts them. When prices are handwritten, cut off at the edge of the photo, or written in traditional numerals, it shows "Confirm prices with staff". Please do.
